Altar-ed State. This was also Remembrance Sunday. The passage deals with a time when the disciples completely blow and lost it. Jesus knew what was going on and what he needed to do. The disciple ran and deserted - their lives, at that time, meant more to them but they did learn. Does violence in any of its forms go against the gospel. War happens when everything else fails. Are we at peace when we are not at war? To what extent do we try and build peace. Christians are encouraged to be peace makers - to be a new creation, Jesus came not just to save you but all people and all of creation. Martin Luther-King believed that people can change and that violence was not necessary. Grahame played his past speech pointing out that he was killed the day after. He picked up his cross and followed Jesus Christ amongst the hatred and violence. Do we pick up the challenge of peace in our lives. We remember Remembrance Day but we must have a vision for the future it is not just for our politicians and other people. We are Gods' people and he has a vision for us and all of HIS creation.
