Response Time
The news came into the church meeting: the vision had been clear but targets were being missed, and people wanted to know why! We look at a crisis that hit the early church and ask why people like Stephen were so central in the church’s response to both the immediate problem, and to God’s big vision.

Hearing Voices
Each term we will go to a different continent to hear the voices of some of the movers and shakers of our world, and ask what our Christian faith might say in response. On these inspirational evenings we will be challenged by the famous and not-so famous to look again at the Bible and our world.

What is Good Religion?
Religion is so often condemned either as irrelevant or dangerous. In a study of James’ letter we ask what good religion might look like, and why a vibrant, God-centered way of living is far from past it.

Enough
Amos spoke some of the most confrontational words of prophecy in the Old Testament, challenging the economy and stablishment of one of the ancient world’s super powers. We ask what would happen if Amos came to visit us in the Berkshire Suburbs?

Seeing Differently
When the sun is shining everything looks different. The trees and hills appear more green, the sky is a vivid blue, and the Channel is less brown. Over the Summer we’re going to take words that we hear all year round, and try and look at them from a different perspective.

Beyond
Following Jesus not only changes our personal lives, but also impacts upon our local and global communities. Throughout September we will look at the vision for our mission here at Wokingham Baptist Church.

A road less travelled
Prayer is a lifelong journey of letting go of one’s need to control the world and one’s life, in favour of receiving from, and partnering with, God. Eight small words will help us to reflect on why we pray, and how our praying might become more God-centred.

Beginnings
How do we read Genesis after Charles Darwin? What is this curious writing, where did it come from, and why should I bother with it? This short series will challenge us to think again about God and the Universe: what is the purpose of creation, humanity and Genesis 1?

Hearing Christmas Voices
Throughout our Advent and Christmas Morning Services we will meet the characters who were filled with hope and expectation leading up to the first Christmas.
