To inspire young people to move into a vibrant, personal relationship with Jesus Christ

Wokingham Baptist Church has a passion to show young people that they matter to God and that he wishes to have a personal relationship with them. This belief underpins everything we do with young people, and we try to embody God’s love when we interact with young people.

Working with young people to Learn, Live, Love…LIFE!

Learn- Youth work is about education. Education can take a variety of guises, maybe it’s helping the young people develop life skills or providing information about the dangers of drugs or helping them apply the Bible to their lives.

Live- We want the young people to experience life in all its fullness. As part of our work with young people we seek to provide opportunities for them to discover more about themselves and the world that they live in.

Love- We want to help young people begin to understand what it means for them to love God, love other people and also for the young people to love themselves.

Small groups especially for the youth meet after school or during the evening.

The regular activities through the week such are:

  • Regeneration on Sunday mornings
  • The Drop-In on Friday nights
  • Detached street work as part of the JAC street teams

A youth band rehearses and plays in a Sunday service once a month. There are also special events on a Saturday evening approxiamately once a month.

A range of activities take place during the year, including trips to Oakwood Youth Challenge . In addition there are occasional sleep-overs, camps and other residential trips.

As members of the church, we commit ourselves to the nurturing, protection and safekeeping of all, especially children and young people. Please click here to read the church's policy statement on children, young people and the church.
