We are looking forward to Baptist Assembly being in Bournemouth next year and as it is now a Bank Holiday weekend, the draft programme has us gathering on the evening of Friday 8 May for an opening celebration and finishing around lunchtime on Sunday 10 May. We really hope you will be able to join us. We encourage you to book your accommodation early.  We have been able to negotiate some special rates at selected hotels in close proximity to the venue through Reservation Highway which may be of interest to you.  Please see the Assembly website below for details.
Prayer Ministry - some changes from this week.
The Prayer Ministry Team took a break over the summer and now plans to return on September 8th. Following feedback from the team, and from those receiving prayer, we've concluded that the current space really isn't suitable for prayer. So, we've agreed with the leadership team that we will move to the other back corner of the church where the comfy chairs currently are and move the comfy chairs over where the prayer ministry used to be! We also hope to create a much nicer and more private prayer space for people to use. Any questions or concerns, please do speak to Nick or Anna Rogerson.
Due to the busy Summer holiday period, we are desperately short of the following items:
Milk (long-life) sugar, tinned cold meat, biscuits, packet custard, all -purpose cleaner, washing powder (small packets), deodorant (ladies and men’s), razors and shaving foam.
At present we have an abundance of Soup, Baked Beans and Pasta.
Thank you for your support, it is greatly appreciated
Stitched Up
A programme for this season is available from Jean Lee or the Church Office.
We meet every Thursday afternoon from 2 to 4 o’clock to enjoy a chat over a cup of tea or coffee whilst engaging in a variety of activities including knitting, crocheting and sewing. We meet in the home of either Jean Lee, Susan Brereton or Liz Goffin.
This term we are introducing a “Knit a Square” sessions once a month, the squares will be going to make blankets for the homeless.  Lyn Green will be coming along to the first session on Thursday 19th September to talk about various knitting projects for Charities. Jean Lee will be hosting this session.  If you would like to come along and learn to knit, this might provide a good opportunity. We will provide needles and wool to complete a square.
Why don’t you join us? No level of expertise is needed, everyone is welcome. Why not to bring a friend along with you.
