Gift Day
We want to let you know that as in recent years we will be having a Gift Day, and this year it will take place on Sunday 2nd December. This message is to flag up the date to you, so you can have a think and a pray about how you might be able to contribute, according to your financial means at this time.
The great news is that the more money we give, the more we will be able to give away! The causes we are committed to supporting include:
Baptist Home Mission- supporting mission activity in our UK Baptist family
BMS World Mission- our denomination’s brilliant overseas mission agency
Baptist Training Colleges– training leaders for ministry and mission
Soulscape– supporting Christian youth work in our Wokingham secondary schools
Cheques can be made out to Wokingham Baptist Church, and payments made by BACS in the usual way with a’ Gift Day’ reference.
Advent Messy Prayer Event - Sunday 2nd December!
This Advent we would love to encourage you to take part in a couple of prayer initiatives, as a church and as individuals and families. The first is a Messy Prayer Event on Sunday 2nd December from 4pm in the Sanctuary, sharing communion tea together at 5.30pm. We'll be praying for our future vision for children, youth, and families, and there will be lots of prayer activities for all ages! It would be great to see you there as we seek God together, and have fun praying in different and creative ways. The second prayer initiative over Advent is a Church Advent prayer calendar, which will be available from the first Sunday in Advent. Please do contact Nick, Anna Rogerson or Pat Meadowcroft if you'd like any further information.
