SUFFOLK LODGE- Please support David and Mary as they lead the short service today at 5.30 p.m.  This service is much appreciated by residents and staff and is a great form of outreach from the Churches in Wokingham.

Meals for the Homeless and Vulnerable at the Salvation Army Church
This church has a team of volunteers who buy or prepare and organise the meal on Monday evenings from 4.30pm – 6.00pm (not Bank Holidays) at the Salvation Army in Sturges Road. We are in teams of three with one preparing or buying the main course, one preparing vegetables and the other providing a pudding. (Our church will reimburse you)
In any eight- week period we are usually on the rota two or three times at the most. The commitment isn’t huge, but the rewards are great!
We would love to have a one or two more people to help and If you think this might be something for you, please talk to Jean  or Anna  who can tell you more about what happens there or just come along one Monday evening about 4.30pm to see what we do.

SAVE THE DATES!
We are planning a Spring Clean/Tidy and Gardening day on Saturday 9th June, between 10am -3pm.
It would be wonderful to see you there!
There will be a job list available on the day with something for everyone!

CHRISTIAN AID
This year, Christian Aid Week is 14-18 May, and volunteers are needed to maintain our contribution.
Many people will have read in the press the adverse publicity over the last couple of months about the charity sector, BUT the need to support the disadvantaged in Syria, Lebanon, Congo etc is still there, and growing.
Can YOU spare a couple of evenings to deliver envelopes and collect them in a street near your home? Please talk to me after the service,  so that we can help those in great need. Thanks, Derek Stott

Spring Church Walk 29th April 2018
Bursting Bluebells, Ancient Beech Woods and Beautiful Views.
Please join members of Fleet Meadow Baptist church on their Spring walk. We’re hoping to bring the churches together in a lovely walk.
The walk is in and around the village of Aldworth, West of Goring on Thames.
The walk is about 4 miles in distance and about two hours in duration. The walking is all well-defined footpaths and tracks. It is mostly flat or undulating with one gentle steady incline. There is one small section of road walking where dogs and children must be on leads or supervised. Walking boots are recommended because some of the tracks could have small patches where it is muddy and uneven. There are no stiles to negotiate and about three quarters of the way round the walk there is an alternative quick route to the finish down a lane.
It is a lovely part of our Berkshire countryside. The village of Aldworth has an interesting historical church, Saint Mary’s, with a unique feature, which we shall visit on our walk. Dogs are welcome. For most of the walk dogs can be off lead but under control. The pub where we finish is dog friendly and also has a large beer garden. Location and time details are below.
Meeting time:14.00.  Meeting place: The Bell Inn. RG8 9SE. There is a large car park at the pub including an overflow car park into a field.
