What to Expect on a Typical Sunday
In our worship we hope to encounter God and hear directly from Him. We aim to enable this to happen through an approach that draws on different styles. We pray that our worship will be inspirational and life-changing and that it will reflect both the nature of God and the diversity of people in the church. We cherish the gifts of the Spirit and seek God to work in power, to save, heal, restore, reconcile and change us.
There is a breadth of creativity within the church which has led to, for example, the use of drama, visuals, discussions and media.
Each term, services are organised around a theme or book of the Bible. Recent examples include: Amos – Enough; Esther – Bound to Sin; Sabbath; and Relationships, Sexuality & Faith. All talks are recorded and available on the website for an extended virtual listening community.
At present, our main service is on Sunday morning, when attendance is around 180, including every age from birth to the 90s ! We have a variety of music groups – including two main bands, a youth band, singing group, an organist and other informal ensembles. During this service we provide groups for the children and young people so that they can learn and contribute in ways which are more specific to their age. And the first Sunday of the month is an all-age / Girls’ Brigade parade service.
